HWH Hydraulic Leveling Problem

Just brought the MH from service for another issue that cost me an arm and a leg, and while I was trying to level the coach in the driveway at home it extended all four levelers down but then all of a sudden lost all movement on the levelers and there was no sound of the hydraulic system running. I went and checked the hydraulic fluid level, and it is at the mark it is supposed to be. I checked each individual fuse under the dash, and they all seem to be alright.
What could be the problem? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Questions About Mississippi Gulf Coast and New Orleans

Due to a number of family issues, our travel is going to be very limited this year. Other than a few nearby state parks, we'll probably only make one "real" trip. Can anyone tell me if the MS Gulf Coast has recovered enough from Katrina to make that a good destination? We've never been there, but it also has the added advantage of being within an hour's drive for our toad of both New Orleans and Mobile.
I know I've heard that the casinos are back up and running, but while we would visit those we are not really into gambling. What about the beaches and other attractions? It's just the two of us, so we don't need any entertainment for kids.
Also, I've heard that the French Quarter in New Orleans is in full swing. Is this true? If we went to the MS Coast we'd plan a 1 or possibly 2 day trip there as well.
Thanks for any info you can share . . . Joyce

Gulf Shores: Best Time To Go??

Last year we went to Gulf Shores, AL for the first time and really enjoyed the trip. However, we went in mid-August when it was extremely hot. The first day or so the water was wonderful, but after that the waves got a bit rough and suddenly there was a lot of seaweed, algae, or some other kind of green "gunk" in the water for the rest of our time there. We had a good time, but I expect there is probably a better time of year to visit there.
Those of you "in the know" about Gulf Shores, what time of year would you recommend visiting there? Is May a good time? What about early June?
Thanks -- Joyce

RE: Problem with charging house batteries...?

Thanks jackMS, I’ve got it this time (I think).
The first part I've done right (connected positive from one battery to the negative post of the other). But, I also connected charger to the same posts by respective polarity and this is where the problem seemingly is.
So, if I understood you correctly I should have connected charger to the other two posts with respective polarities, then it would've been OK.
Thanks a million, I'll try again just for the heck of it (after all, I might learn something even at this old age).

RE: Problem with charging house batteries...?

othertonka, I used my other 12V battery charger, although I tried with the new I just bought as well by switching to 12 Volt setting but still have the “check” red light.
Well, since I have no idea what's going on, I plugged it into a 120V AC house receptacle (which I should have done in the first place) and will have the batteries charged through the RV converter.
Thank you all!

Problem with charging house batteries...?

"They should be wired in series and you should charge them as a 12 volt battery"
OK, I did that but now there is a red light on mu 12V battery charger even though both individual batteries are connected in series and one checked with 6.00 Volts, while the other was 6.18 Volts.
I connected charger/red clamp to one battery to positive (+) post and black clamp to another battery to negative (-) post. However, the red "check" light is on. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for all your help!

Battery Charger for 6V Deep Cycle Batteries...?

Here I go again with another few questions:
A year ago I bought two 6V batteries (Interstate, Workaholic, U-2200, C-3 Deep Cycle). My wife left unintentionally the inside lights on for a few days, and now I need to recharge them. I bought the Battery Charger for 6 and 12 Volts batteries (made by “Schumacher Electric Corp”, Model 600A).
I disconnected the batteries and after couple of hours when I checked the charge it only showed 6.18 Volts. Since the battery was down to 6.00 Volts, I wonder if (1) the battery charger I bought is the right one to fully charge the Deep Cycle batteries or do I need to look for another charger? (2) And if so, what would you recommend for me to buy?
(3) Also, what volt reading should I have on my digital multimeter once the single 6 Volt battery is fully charged?
Thanks for all the help!

Charging 6V & 12V Batteries...?

Checking with the Voltmeter, how many Amps should indicate fully charged 6V and 12V Batteries?
Your assistance in helping me out on this question is much appreciated.
